Born under the "Big Sky." recorded in Austin with producer John Michael Schoepf (Roky Erickson) and an elegant crew of musicians — drummer and percussionist John Speice (Black Pumas), Dan Creamer (Shakey Graves) on analog synth, piano and mellotron, Gary Newcomb (Bill Callahan) on pedal steel and Jaime Ospina (Grupo Fantasma) on the gaita.

This cinematic alternative folk album challenges categorization...crackling organ samples...the idea of letting go...all hopes of a better past...to practice forgiveness...analog synth sparkling in the mix...counterpoint to...moody upright piano...gaita soaring...pedal steel unfurling...fretless bass…acoustic guitars...metal reverb plates...congas…

all songs written, arranged and produced by tomás Pagán motta (vocals, guitars) — musician, songwriter and singer. his songs have been featured on The Complete List: NPR Music's Favorite Songs and the critically acclaimed soundtrack of Netflix's "Flaked," season two.

Growing up in southern Maryland in a Puerto Rican household, he was raised on top 40, '90s rock and hip hop and the eclectic music of the Caribbean from salsa to reggae to the Puerto Rican Trovadores and their Décima and Seis. Playing brass in school bands exposed him to classical music and later he discovered and nourished his own deep love for U.S. folk and blues music and other world roots music. His lyrical inspirations no doubt come from his unique and varied life experience working as a reporter, writer and educator, among other jobs, including a six-year stint in the White House.
